History

Hub City was started by Jawn Lafratta as a home bike repair service, but grew organically with the help of Justin Francis and Keegan Metheringham into a complete community bike shop, which opened in March 2012. The name is a play on a common nickname of Nanaimo, which is called Hub City due both to its spoke-like layout and central location on Vancouver Island.
