| Haciendo conexiones: Cómo usar nuestro trabajo y valores para aumentar el apoyo de la comunidad | Making Connections: How to use our Work and Values to Increase Community Support |
| El trabajo que hacen los talleres comunitarios de biciletas y los grupos de apoyo entorno a la bicicleta es increiblemente valioso para nuestras respectivas comunidades. Mientras algunos grupos han logrado el éxito y son apoyados adecuadamente por su membresía, aliadxs, voluntarixs y recursos financieros, otros enfrentan dificultades con la membresía, falta de fondos y un apoyo comunitario tambaleante. El objetivo de este taller es liderar una charla facilitada sobre las diferentes estrategias que pueden ayudar a aumentar el apoyo para nuestras iniciativas y ayudar con la sustentabilidad de nuestras organizaciones. Se anima a que participen en el taller y compartan su experencia personas que hayan tenido éxito o dificultades con el reclutamiento y/o la retención. Empezando con el concepto de marca y estrategias básicas de mercadotecnia social, el taller va a dirigir una plática que esperamos sirva como una oportunidad para compartir conocimientos dentro de la comunidad de Bike!Bike! | The work that community bike shops and bike advocacy groups do is incredibly valuable in our respective communities. While some groups have cracked the code and are sustainably supported by their membership, allies, volunteers, and funding sources, others deal with constant turnover, lack of funding, and wavering community support. This workshop aims to lead a facilitated discussion on various strategies that may help increase the support for our initiatives and help with the sustainability of our organizations. Those who have had success or are struggling with recruitment and/or retention are encouraged to attend and share their experiences. Starting with the concept of branding and basic social marketing strategies, the workshop will then lead into a conversation which will hopefully serve as a knowledge sharing opportunity for the Bike!Bike! community. |
