Mission Statement The Milwaukee Bicycle Collective is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that provides a publicly accesible bicycle resource center for the city of Milwaukee. It is a place where bike construction and repair can happen in a creative and supportive environment and at an affordable cost.

At the Milwaukee Bicycle Collective we feel strongly about working to create a world where human powered transportation is the norm and available to everyone.

The Milwaukee Bicycle Collective has been working towards this goal since June 17, 2002.

Services Offered

  • Providing a safe and supportive environment for teaching bicycle repair and basic mechanic knowledge in order to instill new, valuable skills in the inner-city youth of our service area.
  • Provide an affordable resource for access to bicycle transportation that is otherwise not available for inner-city Milwaukee residents.
  • Encouraging environmentally-sustainable re-use of raw materials used in bicycle production that would otherwise end up as landfill waste.
  • Encouraging the values of recycling and the benefits of re-purposing used material.
  • Providing a safe environment for inner-city youth to develop interpersonal and employment-ready soft skills.
